Cusco has launched a modern system to manage its tourist sites. This project, led by the IT and Telecommunications team, works with the Monument Management Coordination team.
The system replaces the old method of manually punching tickets. Now, tourists must show a physical ticket that is scanned with a device called a Workpad. This scanner checks the ticket, records its details, and ensures it cannot be reused.
The new system improves security and efficiency. Monument managers can see ticket data in real time, making it easier to track visits.
Jorge Moya, Director of Culture in Cusco, said the technology makes daily tasks simpler. "It ensures visitors have an organized and smooth experience," he added. At the end of each day, staff can create detailed reports. These reports show how many tickets were scanned during each shift, helping supervisors analyze tourist visits effectively.
