Luxury Lares Trek at a Glance

Day 1: Cusco-Thermal Baths- Blue Lake

Pick up from your hotel in Cusco and drive to Lares to enjoy the Tharmals baths, then, start a 2 hours hike to Kiswarani, where lunch is served. After lunch, hike for 3 hours to to our campsite located at the back of the Blue Lake.

Day 2: Quiswarani-Condor-Cancha Cancha

Wake up with a hot drink offered in your tent; then we will start ascending for 4 hours to Condor Pass, the trek's highest point. where you will take time to enjoy the amazing views of the Andes. Next, you will continue for 2 hours to the campsite at Cancha Cancha (3,750 m - 12,303 ft).

Day 3: Cancha Cancha-Maras-Ollantaytambo-Aguas Calientes

After breakfast, explore the village, and the local school to later start descending for 4 hours into the Sacred Valley, where our chef will be waiting with a special Pachamanca barbecue. In the afternoon, you will board the train to Aguas Calientes and spend the night in a hotel.

Day 4: Machu Picchu, Ollantaytambo,Cusco

On the final and most important day, we will explore Machu Picchu with your tour guide and enjoy a delicious lunch at the Machu Picchu Hotel. In the afternoon, board the Vistadome exclusive panoramic trains to return.

Full Itinerary
Day 1: Cusco Lares Hotsprings - Kiswartani - Blue Lagoon

We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 5 AM. We'll drive 3 hours over the Andes to Lares Hot Springs, where you enjoy the hot pools and have breakfast. Next, you will drive for 20 minutes to  Punta Carretera and start hiking for 2 hours to the village of Kiswarani, where your trekking chef will be waiting for a delicious lunch.

After lunch, start a 2-hour uphill hike to the blue lagoon located at 9m. On the way, you will visit the local houses and beautiful waterfalls, and hike along with llamas and alpacas.

Day 2: Quiswarani-Condor-Cancha Cancha

We will wake you up with hot drinks (coffee or tea) at 5 a.m. and enjoy an early breakfast with a beautiful view of the mountains and lake. After breakfast, we will start a 4-hour climb to Condor Pass. You will enjoy the beautiful view of Lakes, waterfalls, llamas, and alpacas on the way. Upon arrival at the summit, you will take to enjoy the fresh air while our shaman performs a traditional offer to Pachamama.

Afterward, you will begin a 3-hour descent to the lunch place at Acopata. The campsite is located 1 hour later at Canchachanca village together with herds of llamas, and alpacas.

Day 3: Cancha Cancha- Ollantaytambo-Aguas Calientes

After enjoying a delicious breakfast, you will visit one of the local houses and the school where you can interact with local children, learn the Quechua language, and get ready for a final 4 hours downhill into the Sacred Valley. Along the way, you will pass the llamas and alpacas, potatoes, and fava bean farms in the highland, and Maize, quinoa, kiwi, peaches, and avocados as we get closer to the Sacred Valley.

Once in the Sacred Valley, we will enjoy a Pachamanca barbecue and local drinks to celebrate the completion of the Lares Trek. Later in the afternoon, you will visit Ollantaytambo and explore the ancient Inca water channels, dwellings, and walls. Your guide will show you a beautiful village, and board the train to Aguas Calientes (train times may vary, depending on availability), where we have dinner and spend the night in a hotel.

Day 4: Discover Machu Picchu - Return to Cusco

You will enjoy an early breakfast at the hotel and board the bus to Machu Picchu: From Aguas Calientes, take a 25-minute bus ride up the winding road to the entrance of Machu Picchu. 

You will explore the best of Machu Picchu in a private guided tour of the magnificent archaeological site of Machu Picchu, the Lost City of the Incas. Learn about the site's history, architecture, and significance, and take in the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.

After the guided tour, spend some time exploring the site on your own. Lunch will be at the Machu Picchu Hotel to later descend back to Aguas Calientes for a late lunch. 

Return to Cusco: After lunch, board the Panoramic Vistadome train back to Ollantaytambo. From Ollantaytambo private transfer to return to Cusco. The journey takes around 2 hours.
