"Velo de la Novia" could become a conservation area by 2025 in Ucayali

The governor of Ucayali, Manuel Gambini, gave a project report to José Nieto, head of Sernanp. The goal is to protect "Velo de la Novia" by making it a Regional Conservation Area (RCA). This spot is one of Ucayali’s top tourist attractions.

The report will be reviewed in 48 hours. If approved, it will go to the Council of Ministers for a final decision. "This area is key for Ucayali tourism. With the RCA, we will bring more visitors and organize the area better. We want to make this happen soon," said Nieto.

The plan will protect 14,422 hectares. Local leaders, tour operators, and the Provincial Municipality of Padre Abad have already met to learn about the project’s benefits. Governor Gambini said the plan will attract foreign tourists while helping nearby communities grow sustainably.

The RCA is expected to be ready by early 2025.
