Tourists will be able to enjoy the whale season until the end of October.

The increase in visitors for humpback whale watching is positively impacting tourism, particularly in the northern region. Efforts are being made to comply with all safety regulations to ensure this continues.

Tourists will be able to enjoy the whale season until the end of October.

Martín Palomino Zapata, head of Tourism for the Municipality of Los Órganos in Talara, confirmed that the "marine spectacle offered by humpback whales is attracting visitors from various parts of Peru and the world."

According to information from the Regional Government of Piura, this is positively impacting tourism development and the region's economy by generating jobs and boosting local businesses. Meanwhile, Franklin More Espinoza, director of Aerodromes and Ports at DRTC, emphasized the formalization of tourist vessels and the training of tour operators. These factors are a priority for Piura's authorities to ensure compliance with safety measures.

It is suggested to navigate between 7 and 11 in the morning, as sea conditions and natural light allow for better observation of the giant cetaceans. Recommendations for tourists include hiring formal vessels equipped with life jackets and communication devices, avoiding heavy meals before sailing, not feeding marine animals, using sunscreen, and staying hydrated.
