With the New Year just around the corner, travel magazines are sharing top vacation ideas for their readers. One of the most exciting choices comes from Condé Nast Traveller, which included Peru’s Amazon Rainforest among the 25 best places to visit in 2025.
According to the magazine, the selected destinations offer new adventures and unique experiences. “These destinations reflect our values as travelers for 2025, whether through conservation efforts, stunning creativity, or a deep sense of human connection,” the article states.
While most of the world focuses on Machu Picchu, Peru’s rainforest covers 60% of the country and has plenty to offer. One major highlight for 2025 is the launch of the Pure Amazon river cruise, set to begin in June. This luxury cruise will host up to 22 passengers, giving them the chance to experience both comfort and local traditions. From the boat and during immersive excursions, guests can spot caimans, sloths, and giant anacondas.
Another big attraction is Peru’s first luxury treehouse, located in Madre de Dios near the Bolivian border. Built over 30 meters above the ground, this treehouse offers a one-of-a-kind jungle escape. Reaching it is an adventure in itself, requiring a four-hour journey by jeep and boat from Puerto Maldonado Airport.
Guests can enjoy birdwatching, jungle hikes, and guided tours led by local indigenous guides. The treehouse also features an observation tower, allowing tourists to sleep surrounded by the sounds of the Amazon rainforest. Visitors will find themselves in the heart of the cloud forest of the Cordillera Escalera, near Tarapoto.
