Jorge Chávez Airport Starts New Flights to Madrid and Atlanta
The new Jorge Chávez Airport in Lima began full operations on June 1. LATAM Airlines Perú flew to Atlanta, and Iberia came from Madrid. These flights marked the start of this new airport terminal.
The Minister of Transport, César Sandoval, said this is a big step for Peru. It will help the country grow and bring in more tourists.From now on, direct flights will be received from the United States, Spain, Brazil, Chile and Argentina.
The airport also saw flights from São Paulo and Santiago on this first day. LATAM Airlines made new areas for quick check-in. They will also open a new lounge later this year with food by chef James Berckemeyer.
Before opening, workers tested everything to make sure it worked well. Now, the airport has more space and modern services.
With this new terminal, Lima is ready to welcome more visitors from around the world.
