In order to prioritize our national and international visitors, Indecopi urged tourism providers to provide updated information to ensure the safety of travelers. What is happening on the mountain?
Last weekend, incidents were reported between residents of the communities of Chillihuani and Llacto, who clashed over the management of access to the Vinicunca tourist attraction, resulting in four seriously injured and one fatality.
In response, the regional office of Indecopi in Cusco addressed tourism providers, emphasizing that they must provide adequate information to their customers to ensure their safety amidst the conflicts in the Cusipata district.
Cusco's Gercetur also spoke out regarding the disturbances, urging operators to suspend transportation to the 'Mountain of 7 Colors,' stating that "the safety of visitors is paramount."
Additionally, they reiterated that tourism service operators should avoid exposing the integrity of both domestic and foreign visitors, prioritizing the safety of those who have scheduled visits via the Cusipata and Pitumarca routes to the Rainbow Mountain.
