The Fair for the Day of Piurana Gastronomy Was Successfully Held

The culinary event was part of the activities for Piura's 492nd anniversary, where 12 picanterías and restaurants from the province participated, drawing a large crowd of attendees who enjoyed the local traditional dishes.

The gastronomic competition celebrated the Day of Piurana Gastronomy, showcasing a variety of typical dishes such as arroz con pato, ceviches, rondas criollas, seco de chabelo, among others. It took place at the city’s Civic Center, known as “Paloma de la Paz.”

Jimmy Cerro Sánchez, Manager of Economic Development and Commercial Services, outlined the festival's goal: “We are celebrating the Day of Piurana Gastronomy, and as part of Gabriel Madrid's policy, the provincial municipality promotes picantería businesses to boost gastronomic tourism through these events.”

He also described Piurana cuisine as one of the most diverse in Peruvian food, highlighting its flavor and the ancestral heritage of its ingredients, qualities that allow it to win over all kinds of palates.
