Embassy of Peru in India Hosts Gastronomic Festival "Taste of Peru in Colombo"

The "Taste of Peru in Colombo" event brought authentic Peruvian dishes to Sri Lanka. Chef Julio Castillo led the kitchen, preparing classic Peruvian recipes. The festival, held from November 29 to December 1, was the first of its kind in the region.

Guests enjoyed iconic dishes like ceviche and causa limeña, paired with the famous pisco sour cocktail.

The event was organized by the Embassy of Peru in India with help from Romani de Silva, the Honorary Consul of Peru in Sri Lanka. It welcomed diplomats from Turkey, Korea, and Japan, along with business leaders, tourism professionals, and journalists.

The festival had a clear goal: to promote Peruvian cuisine abroad. The Embassy highlighted the importance of food as a unique part of Peruvian culture. The success of the event helped strengthen Peru’s reputation on the global culinary map.
