Carlos Camino, a distinguished Peruvian chef, has become a prominent figure in international gastronomy. As the only chef from his country to hold two Michelin stars, he has taken Peruvian cuisine to new heights from his restaurant Miraflores in Lyon, France. His career is a testament to dedication and excellence, celebrated both in his home country and abroad.
As the only Peruvian chef to hold two Michelin stars, Carlos Camino was welcomed by the Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola on the night of August 16th to celebrate his career in the culinary field.
His restaurant, Miraflores, is located in the French city of Lyon and has been offering Franco-Peruvian cuisine to its diners since 2013. This achievement earned him his first star in 2017 and the second in 2021.
The event was led by the Faculty of Hospitality Management, Tourism, and Gastronomy at USIL. During the event, Camino shared his life and work experiences, followed by contributions from representatives of the university.
